CompetitionEach year, high school students from ProStart programs around the state battle it out for the number one spot in Alaska, competing in Culinary and Management competitions. The winning teams from each earn the coveted chance to compete in the National ProStart Invitational, held in various cities around the US each year.
ScholarshipsMany culinary schools offer scholarships to any student who has completed the ProStart Program. Students who go above and beyond and place at state and national competitions have the opportunity to earn even more! Those who complete the Certificate of Achievement have access to additional scholarships and job opportunities.
Certificate of AchievementThe National ProStart ® Certificate of Achievement is awarded to students who have successfully completed the ProStart ® program (by meeting all the requirements). Earning the COA means that you have completed the ProStart program and taken the national exams each year, completed 400 hours at a paid food service job, completed the ProStart Workplace Checklist and submitted your name and proof of the above to your state coordinator.
