ProStart students spend two years in the classroom mastering the fundamental management and culinary techniques and skills that they need for success in the food service industry. ProStart trains students on industry specific skills that can be used in all aspects of the restaurant and food service industry.
Students who participate in the ProStart program also have the opportunity to showcase their skills at a state wide competition and win the chance to go to a national competition.
There are also many scholarships, job opportunities and many more exciting things for students enrolled in a ProStart program!

As a ProStart educator you have the opportunity to use the most up to date and comprehensive food service curriculum for high school students. You also have the opportunity to make industry connections and work directly with professionals in the food service industry. This increases your students success!
In addition, there is a state coordinator who is available for any questions you may have, and to help connect you with the most up to date resources available.
Finally, there are opportunities for additional funding for your program and professional development opportunities for you as an educator.

As an industry professional involved in the ProStart program you have an amazing opportunity to recruit and hire the newest talent fresh our of high school. You have the chance to mentor students during school and prepare them for the challenge of the food service industry.
